Countdown to SSENC’s 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM)
We’re now less than a month away from SSENC’s Annual General Meeting—an essential event that shapes the future of our organization. This year, we’ll be electing our executive and table officers for the 2025–2027 term.

Leadership Elections
At the heart of these elections is the role of President, currently held by Rachel Collishaw, who has been a guiding force since SSENC’s inception in 2019. The President represents and speaks on behalf of SSENC, chairs board meetings, and ensures strong governance. Supporting this role is the Vice-President, who steps in when the President is unavailable and works closely alongside them. Other key positions include the Secretary, Treasurer, and Past-President, each contributing to the leadership and strategic direction of SSENC.
Representation & Participation
In addition to electing officers, the AGM is the official forum for member organizations to submit the names of their representatives – and for the first time this year, alternates who may attend board meetings as observers. Since SSENC is a network of organizations rather than individuals, it’s vital that each member group across Canada designates teachers and educators who can speak on behalf of their provincial or territorial association.
Reports & Dialogue
Member organizations will also receive updates from SSENC’s committees and workgroups, including financial reports and strategic priorities. Member organizations get a chance to ask questions regarding the activities within these sub-groups. Finally, the AGM offers a space to share insights, challenges, and developments from each province and territory – fostering collaboration and mutual support across the network.
Why the AGM Matters
In short, the AGM remains SSENC’s most important venue for exchanging ideas, sharing updates, and setting the course for the years ahead. It’s where we listen, lead, and learn – together.
