Learning about Trust

Jan 21, 2024

New classroom resources

Why do we trust the people we do? What factors affect our trust in people and institutions? How can we wade through social media to find reliable information?

These are some of the questions addressed in three new lessons created by SSENC for Canadian educators. Elementary, middle years, and secondary teachers can find resources and strategies to engage their students with a topic that goes to the heart of what it means to be a citizen in a participatory democracy: trust.

Written by classroom teachers, drawing heavily on data from partner Proof Strategies Inc., each lesson contains primary and secondary sources, and easy to follow strategies. The lessons meet curriculum outcomes and indicators in history, language arts, math, media studies, and social studies.
